56' Motor Vessel “Poco Loco” - 3/1/2007
56' Motor Vessel “Poco Loco” on the shore of Ballast Bay, Tortola, BVI. The bottom of this vessel was extensively damaged and beyond temporary patching. Therefore Husky Salvage and Towing subcontracted Meridian Constructions’ crane barge to lift the vessel from the shore. The crane barge was towed to the location and carefully positioned using m/v “Lakota” and m/v “Retriever” and succeeded in lifting the damaged vessel onto the deck. The next day the crane barge was manoeuvred through Nanny Cay Marina to the haulout slip and the vessel was transferred into the travel lift. It was known that due to the weight of the damaged vessel the lifts at both ends would be marginal for the cranes ability. Only through expertise and careful planning was this salvage operation a success.
